Landmark

The Landmark Mall has a rich history, being the first shopping mall in the United States with major department stores. The mall began as an open air mall and later went through the transformation into a fully enclosed mall. With the decline in large mall shopping and entertainment, the Landmark Mall ultimately closed its doors and we began re-imagining the site as a forward thinking community minded neighborhood. Our team went to numerous city meetings and met with members from the surrounding community to develop a vision that is for the people and by the people. Carefully studying the site allowed designs that promoted reuse of critical infrastructure to build a more resilient mixed-use site.
